Who Am I?
Great question. I’m Charlotte.
I’m a freelance writer, producer, photographer, journalist based in New York City. I’m constantly curious, always chasing good stories from strangers.
At 16, I co-founded The Pelham Examiner, the first independent student-run newspaper in the U.S.
I went on to earn a B.S. in Journalism at Boston University, where I wrote for The Boston Globe, Horizon Mass Media and DIG Boston. I also served as the Managing Editor for Off the Cuff Magazine and produced and directed both a documentary and a three-part podcast series called Afloat.
My work spans words, audio and images, from reporter and production to portrait and concert photography under @shuttersbychar.
Photography is a core part of my work. Through @shuttersbychar, I shoot portraits, concerts, and lifestyle work—capturing people in their element.
As I started finding my voice, I realized I didn’t just want to tell stories, I wanted to build a space to them. That led me to THE WEB, my seasonal digital magazine covering features, profiles, matcha and everything in between.
Today, I work in the podcasting world as a Marketing Coordinator, blending storytelling with strategy, while continuing to be a multimedia freelancer.
